Happy 90th Birthday Mummy!

This photo was taken last October at The Chichester Harbour Hotel when my mother was a mere 89 years old. We enjoyed a delightful afternoon tea,  swiftly followed by Pimms! The weather was mild with bright sunshine and the sea was as deep blue as the Med.

On Thursday 21st January 2010, she will be celebrating her 90th birthday at The Park Lane Hotel, Piccadilly, London. We shall be sitting in the glorious original art deco interior of the Palm Court which is so much nicer than the more celebrated Ritz along the road! We shall lounge luxuriously on the deep sofas sipping champagne as the best afternoon tea in London is served. No time limit on our visit - family members will arrive and take champagne with us during the afternoon and early evening. If only we could whisk her away to a cabaret as the night develops - just like her days in wartime London when she was a munitions worker who stole a precious few hours with her handsome RAF flyer, who was to become a decorated hero, and her husband, my father.

So sorry I didn't get the postcards to you in time. Time just ran away with me - not very efficient, was it! Now have a list of people to send them to tomorrow. Thank goodness you took some from Liz and how super that they've all gone!!!

    Speak soon.
